About

Built by a flagger, for the crews at the crossings.

A small, independent project, designed and built step by step and shared in public.

I'm Dylan. I work airside, at the crossings.

  • Taxiway crossings
Why I'm building this

At a crossing, what matters is where an aircraft is going.

  1. The noise Calls come in over jet noise. Jet engines close by, and the radio call you need to catch at the same moment.
  2. The gap Tracking apps look backward. I have used flight-tracking apps to stay aware of what is moving around me. They show where an aircraft has been, not where it is going.
  3. The idea Say it in plain words. Airline and taxiway, moving toward your crossing, so you look up at the right moment. It adds to the radio and the procedure. It never replaces them.
How I'm building it

Slow on purpose.

Research-based design rules
Every screen is checked against human-computer interaction rules for glanceable, noisy, gloved, outdoor use.
In a strict order
One step at a time, each one tested before the next starts.
In public
Progress is shared as it happens, here and on LinkedIn.
Where things stand In the design phase. Nothing is built or in use on any airfield yet. Next up: a receiver box that records real aircraft positions for testing. See the progress
